Your experience in Paris really affects where you stay. And if you're still undecided and don't know what to do, I hope this guide helps you.

As you can see, the major landmarks are quite spread out. In order to understand the map of Paris, you have to look at the 20 arrondissements or districts. Each district is really giving a different vibe. And where you stay will also give you hit-or-miss memories of Paris.
If you want a great time in Paris, it is important to know what you want to experience in the City of Lights.
The 1st arrondissement...

This area has a fancy vibe dahil sa mga luxury shops around Rue Rivoli at Place Vendome. Touristy dahil sa Louvre museum. Magulo at makalat dahil sa Chatelet-Les Halles.
Pero very central to other major landmarks of Paris because of the Metro Line 1.
Nandito din ang Ritz Hotel, Tuileries Garden, Palais Royal, and Saint-Chapelle.
Kung gusto niyo to be centrally located, this is the area to stay.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 2nd and the 9th arrondissements...

Buzzy, young, fun, & busy area. I often highly recommend this area to stay kasi it has the Parisian aesthetic of Haussmannian buildings. The neighbourhood is also home to major department stores: Galeries Lafayette & Printemps.
You can definitely find hotels within your budget here at very safe ang area at night.
Most of all, maraming Asian restaurant options pag naghanap na kayo ng kanin!
These are my HIGHLY recommended hotels in this area, just behind the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps stores:
Other options in the area:
The 3rd & 4th arrondissements...

This area is known as the Marais. Ito din ang LGBTQ+ and Jewish neighbourhood area of Paris.
For the past few years, Le Marais has gradually changed, but it still has the chicness and hippie vibe of Paris. Mix of tourists and locals ang makikita mo dito.
The cafe culture (at yosi culture) is very dominant in this neighbourhood. If you’re looking for an area na maraming ganap kung gabi as an LGBTQ+, this is the area for you.
If it’s your first time in Paris, this area is a good place to stay kasi it has a little bit of everything: central, vibrant, local, yet charming.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 5th arrondissement...

This area is known as the oldest neighborhood & the heart of the Latin Quarter of Paris.
The vibe is more laid back at young dahil sa universities and top schools in Paris. Mas calmer kahit maraming tourist landmarks.
They have the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Pantheon in this area. And if you're an Emily in Paris fan, nandito ang kanyang apartment building and Gabriel's restaurant sa series.
Kung feel niyo ng old vibe Paris and want to avoid the touristy side na malapit sa Seine river-- go to the east side of the neighborhood and stay there.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 6th arrondissement...

The “postcard” neighbourhood of Paris. Kung peg mo ang mag people watch ng mga most effortless chic and fashionable Parisians, this is the place to be.
That’s why it is often featured in films and series like Emily in Paris.
The downside in this area is overly priced ang mga cafes and restos. And yes, especially Cafe de Flore & Deux Magots.
Pero if you don’t mind paying more, you can definitely feel like a “Riche Parisien” by staying here. The Le Bon Marche is also in this neighborhood.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 7th arrondissement...

The quiet district for the rich. Pero a crowded one for tourists. Yes, the area is close to the most iconic landmark of Paris-- the Eiffel Tower, and it’s pretty much it.
If you really want to stay here, check the hotels in Rue Cler. The neighborhood has a great Parisian vibe with all the boulangeries, flower shops, and cafes.
Another landmarks in the 7th are the Musee d’Orsay and Hotel des Invalides.
So if you want “boring” and close to the Eiffel Tower this is a place to stay.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 8th, 16th, & 17th arrondissements...

The 8th is where the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Élysees are. Overwhelmingly touristy & disappointing area.
If I were you, try not to book any hotel in this area kasi super touristy, maingay, at overpriced lahat. Dito mo makikita lahat ng big bus tours and you will experience a “so-so” Paris in the end.
Pero this is where old-rich Parisians live. You’ll notice when you walk around puro mga old Parisians with their dogs ang makakasalubong mo.
The 17th is a good option to stay especially for families kasi may local vibe dito because of Parc Monceau.
But if you really want to stay here, these are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 10th & 17th arrondissements...

Maraming ganap dito. It’s the most vibrant, lively, diverse, multicultural, and yet very local Paris.
Lots of options for eating out na very affordable. This is the area to be for a night out and there’s a bit of everything for everyone.
Dress as you like ang mga tao dito: hippie, trendy, or chic. It has a vibe of a true Parisian life today.
For a good night out: go to Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud.
And the best thing about staying in the 10th, andito ang Gare du Nord & Gare de L’est that will connect you to other major European cities like London, Brussels, and Geneva in a few hours by train. So super convenient to stay around here if you're going to those places.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
The 18th arrondissement...

The 18th is the Montmartre area. And if you’re near Sacre Coeur, it feels like you’re in a small French village pero very touristy pa din. You will get the best city view of Paris from here.
Yes, it’s cute to stay here kung hindi ka nagmamadali with your Paris trip. Yung tipong kung gusto mo lang mag chill sa Paris--- pa kape-kape lang, at gusto mo lang maglakad all day to find art & inspiration, then this is your place to stay.
Unless, you stay at the Bottom like in Pigalle or Lamarck-Caulaincourt.
These are my hotel recommendations in this area:
PARIS TAYO tips on booking a place to stay:
It’s still best to go directly sa official website rather than other booking sites.
Book a hotel next to a Paris metro line. Kasi the closer you are sa isang metro, the better.
Staying safe around Paris:
Yes, may mga pickpockets at mandurugas pero if you’re very aware and mindful of your personal belongings, you’ll be okay.
In short, huwag tatanga-tanga! Even when you are inside a restaurant.
Simply say, no.
Always tuck away your passport/wallet in the safest zone sa mga bags niyo.
Listen to your gut instinct. Kasi 99% of the time, it is protecting you from any harmful circumstances.
